Artisan's Asylum made the good point that this is probably a good time to keep a flashlight with you.

  I'm in favor of always keeping a small flashlight on you. I tend to use a flashlight much more than a pocket knife so I keep the flashlight on my belt and the knife buried in a pocket or purse.
