I do thank Sony for making it possible to hack an affordable violet laser together. $40 got me a replacement laser for a PS3.

And this pisses me off, as I feel HD-DVD is superior to Blu-Ray. Then again, it seems like the inferior format wins a lot. (Beta was superior to VHS, for instance.)

  I'm honestly curious, in what ways do you think that HD is superior to BR? I've googled it, and the only advantage that I see is that a few more codecs are required (rather than recommended).
